1. Group 12: descendants of James Monro Cathcart, Sr.
   1. The Group 12 tester (SL) descends from James Monro Cathcart, Sr., born in South Carolina about 1829, who later lived in Georgia and Comanche County, Texas. His Y-DNA results show he belongs to the Spartanburg Cathcart line, descending from Samuel Cathcart, with a very high degree of confidence.For the moment we have one participant from this line: SL Cathcart.
   2. Initial genealogical research (see notes in link above) seem to indicate that James would somehow fit in with Samuel and the Spartanburg Cathcarts.  Given the close relationship with C Cathcart (a known member of the Spartanburg Cathcart line), at least we know it's a genetic possibility.
   3. The equally close genetic link to other Cathcart lines means that more research is needed to formalize James' connection with the Spartanburg Cathcarts
